As USB Type-C is becoming an universal cable utilized in consumer electronics, Longwell has dedicated to develop USB cables since 2005 and successfully launched USB Type-C in 2014. In August 2014, USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) published USB Type-C specification, which is a 24-pin reversible (no up or down orientation) interconnect replacing all USB types (Type-A, Type-B, Micro USB, and Mini USB) to mainly address power delivery and data transfer speed.

While 5V is a default voltage for USB power delivery, Type-C is able to supply voltage up to 20V with 5A maximum current which means Type-C is capable to deliver 100W power. In this case, it is sufficient for power supplies of wide range products, such as smartphones, laptops, tablets, etc. Also, in order to flexibly adapt with diverse electronic products, Type-C integrates USB, HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA, and power ports into a single port which helps manufactures reducing connector use and simplifying customers cable use.

Except connector type, USB version is another critical condition for the integration. USB version indicates transfer speed of data. According to USB-IF, current USB generations include USB 2.0, 3.0, and 3.1, and their transfer speed are 480Mb/s, 5Gb/s, and 10Gb/s. Amazingly, Type-C supports all the versions in its design, and it is being improved to support 20Gb/s in near future. With this high-speed feature, Type-C can fast complete data transfer even if it is with large size, such as video.

Today, Type-C is considered as an innovation of USB. Simplified and fast process is a trend in this era. By possessing the impressive features, Type-C is being this trend in cable field, and Longwell has become a part and supplied this advance cable to worldwide customers with outstanding capabilities and high quality.
